Setting up Drupal on a web host it very easy – and that was probably the easiest part of it. With the installation done, I went about setting up and configuring the site. The first parts of this process was easy enough. It did take a lot of Google searches, as indicated by my search history, but I did manage to get a lot done.

To save time (spoiler alert: I did), I decided to forgo using Git or having separate environments for my site. My thought process seemed to make sense – the site isn’t live, there is no data, and there are no users, what could go wrong?

Installing Git on Ubuntu was very easy. A quick command in terminal, and I was up and running.
